RP TV · Last updated November 1, 2026
RP TV is a personal app for watching live streams on a TV and controlling playback from a phone. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't sell or share personal information.
What RP TV stores
- On your devices (browser storage): your favorite channels, chat layout and player settings, and the TV's pairing code. These never leave your device except as described below.
- Access cookie: after you enter the app's password on your phone, or approve a TV by pairing it, a cookie remembers that the device is allowed to use RP TV. It contains no personal information.
- Optional streaming-service logins: if you choose to log in with a streaming service (to send chat messages or see who you follow), that service's sign-in token and your public username and profile picture are kept in an encrypted cookie on your phone. They are used only to send your messages and load your follows, and are removed when you log out (the token is also revoked with the service).
What the RP TV server handles
- It relays messages between your phone and your TV (for example, which channel to play and your chat layout). These messages aren't saved, apart from the TV's current state, which is kept in memory while the TV is connected.
- It looks up channel information and stream addresses from the streaming services on your behalf.
- It does not keep a database of users, viewing history or chat messages.
- The hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) for security and reliability, under its own policies.
Third-party services
Streams, chat, emotes and channel information come from the streaming services you watch and from emote services (7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ). When the TV or phone loads them, those services receive your device's request (including its IP address) under their own privacy policies. Video from a streaming service's own embedded player is governed by that service's policies.
Children
RP TV is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- Log out of a streaming service at any time from the phone's Chat tab.
- Clear your browser's site data, or uninstall the app, to remove everything RP TV stored on that device.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. For questions, contact the developer through the app's Microsoft Store listing.
